Beatles-sounds and pretty quiffs

An ordinary day in the life of The Obsessions: In the morning they wipe off 'tags' from their tour bus after a graffiti attack. Lunchtime, Swedish producer Max Martin (Britney Spears) pops his head into the studio. And in the evening bassist Jamie Carnwath records a trumpet solo for Peter, Bjorn and John. And all this, just because the band recorded their new self-titled album in Sweden! The quite great result sounds like the Beatles and Lloyd Cole, Sixties and Eighties, Pop rock and Jazz. And 'live' it's being decorated with pretty quiffs. (ksch)
